Africa Retail Awards recognise organisations delivering measurable excellence across Africa's retail ecosystem. The awards are designed to identify businesses that are not simply participating in the growth of African retail, but are changing how retail is delivered, experienced, managed and enabled.
We recognise excellence in innovation, customer experience, assortment, supply chain, responsible business, talent and payments areas that directly determine the performance and resilience of the retail sector.
Entries are assessed against defined category criteria by an independent judging panel. Claims must be supported by evidence.
Who can apply

Be a legally registered organisation operating in an African country.

Have been in operation for a minimum of three (3) years.

Operate within the retail value chain, or provide products or services that support the retail industry.

Be able to provide evidence supporting the information submitted.

Consent to the verification of information where required.
Applicants may submit entries for multiple award categories, provided they meet the eligibility requirements for each category entered.

How submissions are evaluated
Independent review
All submissions are reviewed by an independent panel of respected leaders from retail, business, academia, finance, consulting, and related industries.
Judges evaluate each submission against the published criteria for the relevant category, with particular emphasis on demonstrated impact, quality of execution, innovation, leadership, and measurable outcomes.
Where necessary, applicants may be contacted to clarify information or provide additional supporting documentation.

Applicants are encouraged to support their submissions with verifiable evidence that demonstrates the impact of their work. The strongest submissions clearly show what was achieved, how it was achieved, and the value it created for customers, employees, the business, or the wider retail ecosystem.
